Kapil Dev to head Zee Indian Cricket League

Despite the objections and non-approval from the BCCI, the Zee group headed by Subhash Chandra, finally announced the formation of the Zee Indian Cricket League. The League will explore the talents available in the country and train them as back up forces. Kapil Dev, a hard core critic of the BCCI and the Indian cricket in the recent days, has been appointed as the President of the league. Tony Greig, Dean Jones and Kiran More are the other members of the Zee Indian Cricket League.

At the press conference, Kapil Dev said that the legaue has a noble goal and it would pursue certain strategies to achieve it. There will be no clashes with the BCCI, he added. He also urged the BCCI to work closely with the Zee Indian Cricket League in order to revive Indian cricket and take it to a higher level.

According to reports, the Zee Group has signed some big guns of cricket world like Brian Lara, Glen McGrath, Inzamam, Damien Martyn, Darren Gough and Shane Warne to play in the league. The biggest talk of the movement is about former Indian skipper Saurav Ganguly. It is learnt that ICL is in touch with Ganguly and he might take a final decision to join ICL if he does not get a place in Team India.
