Violence over Reservation, 6 People Dead in Rajasthan

A spat of violence in Rajasthan claimed at least 6 lives. The Gurjjar community in Dausa were protesting over reservation issue when the incident took place. They were demanding their status to be changed from OBC to ST. The police had to open fire to disperse the violent mob. Six people and two policemen were killed in the clash.

Situation is still tense and the state administration has rushed into the spot. Jaipur-Agra national highway has been sealed to avert any untoward incident. The Rajasthan home minister has called an emergency meeting to resolve the crisis. The incident yet again exposed Rajasthan government's inability to maintain law and order in the state.
