1) Bomb in London: London Police say deactivated a suspected bomb capable of creating huge casualties. the bomb was found inside a car. It created panic across the UK just a day after Gordon Brown took over as the new Prime Minister.2) Sachin completed 15,000 runs in ODI: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar achieved yet another milestone when he completed 15,000 runs in ODI. Sachin set this record while playing against South Africa in Belfast.
3) India beat South Africa: It was a do or die match for India and the team clicked in right time. India beat South Africa by 6 wickets in the 2nd ODI to level the series 1-1. Sachin Tendulkar scored 93. Now all eyes will be on the third and deciding game of the series.
4) Dera Chief's Arrest: The Punjab & Haryana High Court gave a reprive to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh who faced arrest in a murder case. The HC granted interim bail to him until August 6.
5) US Senate Derails Immigration Bill: In a major setback to the 12 million illegal immigrants, the US Senate has derailed a landmark Immigration Bill which would have paved the way for regularisation of their status.
6) Doctors spurn Pregnant Lady with HIV+: In a bizarre incident, a man was forced to help deliver his baby in a hospital in Meerut after doctors refused to attend to his HIV-positive wife. The hospital authorities have ordered a probe into the incident. The Allahabad High Court also sought a report over the incident.
7) India lose in Hockey: India lost to Argentina 1-2 in the Champions Challenge hockey tournament in Belgium.
8) Sania out of Wimbledon: Sania Mirza lost in the second round of Wimbledon Open tennis tournament. she lost to Nadia Petrova in straight sets.
