Pressure points: A way of Self Defense
Pressure points are the areas in our body where maximum pain is felt when that area is pressurized or attacked. A basic knowledge of these pressure points can turn out to be powerful weapon of self defense in a situation where you need to defend yourself from an attacker.A brief info on some easily accessible pressure points in our body.
PRESSURE POINTS OF THE NECK: These pressure points can be used to cause pain resulting in fainting and unconsciousness.
1. Behind the jaw in the depression under the jaw. Striking diagonally back to front can result in unconsciousness or dislocation of the jaw.
2. In depression behind the corner of the jaw. Poke or press in and upward at a 45 degree angle toward the center of the head. This action causes pain and may result in jaw dislocation.
3. Notch at bottom of jaw. Hitting on line 45 degrees toward the center of the head will cause pain.
PRESSURE POINTS OF THE ARM: These points can use be used to control your opponent and to bring him to the ground.
1. Front of arm where the pulse is located on the thumb side of the wrist. Press in toward the bone and up toward the wrist resulting in hand weakness.
2. On the little finger side of the front of the hand approximately 1/2 inch below the wrist crease. Press against the bone and toward the hand resulting in weakening of the grip.
3. Inside of arm just below the inner knob of the elbow. Striking or pressing causes the elbow to bend and the arm to go numb.
4. Front of arm 2-3 inches above the inside of the elbow. Striking causes the elbow to bend and pain to extend down the arm to the little finger.
5. Back of arm in the mid-triceps area. Strike against bone to lock elbow and release shoulder.
PRESSURE POINTS OF THE LEG: These points can be used to immobilize an attacker and to seriously damage the leg or knee.
1. The back of the thigh just below the buttocks. Kick causes leg immobilization.
2. The middle of the inner thigh halfway between the groin and the knee. Kicking with the toes or pressing hard with the knuckle causes very searing pain.
3. The inside of the leg halfway between the ankle bone and the lower edge of the calf muscle. Kicking from inside the leg with a rising motion causes the leg to go numb.
4. Back of the leg just below the knee. Stamping kick or toe kick causes severe pain and muscle spasm.
5. The top of the foot where the 4th and 5th toe bones connect. Stamp on it to cause pain.
6. Achilles tendon at the back of the ankle. Kick with edge of foot or shoe to cause pain.

This is not reality. Picture with gun nextWhat happens when the gun gose off next to the person's head? It would drop the victim like a box of rocks. Not counting the burn from the flash of the barrel.

Ron does not understand firearms. Having a .40 caliber or 9 mm popgun go off near your head will deafen you in one ear for a few minutes, but won't "drop" you. Also, unless the gun is aimed at your head, the muzzle flash is directed away from the head, straight out the barrel. Besides, the cruch the guy in the photo is applying to the pressure point will likely paralyze the trigger finger, and the gun won't fire anyway. He'll probably drop it.
The best defense is a clear and sound conscience. When caught in an uncertain situation, drop face down and cover your neck with both palms and never attempt to look at the assailant's face. Then remember God and His angels with you.
Haha, you use your "best defense" and I bet you'll get killed. If I were the assailent, just to be ironic, I'd shank whoever used that through the neck and as they bled out I'd pull back their head and make them look at my face.
If I was a crazy psycho. But I'm not. The best defense is a case by case thing. Measure the situation and decide what's best. Generally I like quick take downs. I've been jumped before. Muggers won't treat you ant nicer for lying down.
Yeah I like pressure points but not in the first defense picture....I like putting the gun to the hip or extending it beyound ear shot. Second the Knife attack try to catch it sooner at the wrist with arm pushed fully back so he cant recoil. No body stabs once so dont catch it late..Pressure points with kicks are fine but you have to know what your doing... Krav Maga is good stuff it's all in how much you keep fresh. About being stabbed so be it but never lay down. Slam some presure points you could walk away wounded. Better than the party the attacker has in mind before your stuffed in a trunk and given the name GIMP...
That is, without any doubt whatsoever, easily the most ridiculous nonsense that I've come across in a long time. Striking the _______ at an angle of _______ will cause pain...? Well no sh*t. The problem is that 'pain' causing control techniques are contextual and typically useless outside of a very limited sphere. If you deal with an attacker that is hardened, or is intoxicated, or simply has a higher pain threshold than you expect things just don't go this smoothly.
Protecting yourself is not about pinching and poking.
hey try not to put your self in those
positions by staying out of dark alleys and if someone is robbing a bank, store etc stay out of the way
thats your best defence let the police do what they get payed for
