News Update: 20 July 2007

1) Relief for Dalmiya: The Calcutta High Court termed Jagmohan Dalmiya's expulsion from the BCCI invalid and allowed him to contest CAB elections if he wishes. Dalmiya filed application against the BCCI on perjury.

2) Vice President Polls: Third Front candidate Rashid Masood filed nomination papers for the August 10 Vice Presidential poll. In another development, the UPA-Left combine decided to field Mohammad Ansari, Chairman of National Commission for Minorities for the post of Vice-President.

3) Blueline Buses to stay off for 2 Days: The Delhi The Delhi government has asked Blueline buses to stay off Delhi roads for the next two days. A 700-member group will check all the blueline buses and give certification to the buses that meet the government criteria.

4) England bowled out for 298: England lost last 6 wickets for 30 runs to bowled out for 298 in the first innings of the first test match at Lord's.
