India to take up Lahore Gurdwara issue with Pakistan

--By BNO Correspondent

India has taken strong exeception to the reports of an alleged take over of a Gurdwara in Lahore by some hooligans. External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said the government has sought a complete report from its high commissioner in Pakistan. The minister assured the Parliament that it would do everything possible to make sure that the shrine is released if it is actually taken over by the miscreants.

According to sources, an 18th Century Gurdwara at Naulakha Bazaar in Lahore had been taken over by hooligans who had allegedly replaced the gurdwara's religious symbols with Islamic slogans. They have also stopped the Sikhs from entering the shrine. We all hope that the matter will be sorted out with due respect to the Sikhs and their shrine.
