India wins the Test Series against England 1-0

It was a historic moment for Indian cricket team. Although England managed a draw in the third test match at the Oval, India won the series 1-0. India's series win against England on British soil came after 21 years. And, it came just when India celebrates the 60th year of Independence. This is India's third series win in England in 75 years.

India took the firm control of the third test from Day one. Although Dravid's decision of not enforcing the follow-on was criticized by everyone. Chasing a victory target of 500, England finished at 369/6. Anil Kumble won the man of the match award. There were two Man of the Series awards. While James Anderson won England's Man of the Series award, Zaheer Khan won India's Man of the Series award. The BCCI has announced a reward of Rs. 1 Crore for the victorious Indian cricket team.
