UPA, Left reach Compromise Formula

Finally, both the UPA and Left called a truce and reached a compromise formula. The government has agreed to put the Nuclear Deal talk on hold until a panel submits its final report. The panel will study the Hyde Act and the 123 Agreement. The government made it clear that the nuke deal operationalisation will depend on the panel report.

The UPA-Left committee will consist of 10 members - five each from Congress and the Left Front (CPI, CPM, FB and RSP). From Congress, Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Ahmed Patel, AK Antony and Pranab Mukherjee will join the panel. The Left Front is yet to decide on its representatives. It will be interesting to see what decision the panel will take in the end. For the time being, the government is safe.
