BJP announces 33% reservation for Women

The BJP took a giant step towards women's empowerment at its National Executive Meet in Bhopal. BJP's national executive passed a resolution with a proposal to reserve 33% of the seats for women at all levels of the organization hierarchy.

BJP's decision is expected to be hailed by all in the wake of delay in passing the Women's Reservation Bill in the Parliament. It will also put pressure on Congress and others to fall in the line or else, BJP will get an clear edge over them on Women's Reservation issue.

Earlier, a committee headed by Ms Sushma Swaraj, gave its recommendations on the changes in the organizational structure of the party. They were placed before the national executive and were readily accepted.
