Bombay HC: Eklavya's selection for Oscars biased

The Bombay High Court has taken strong exception to the way 'Eklavya' was nominated to the Oscars ahead of movies like 'Dharm' and 'Chak De'. The court found Eklavya's entry to the Oscars 'prima facie biased'. The court issued notices to Film Federation if India and others on the petition filed by Bhavna Talwar, the director of Dharm.

A division bench of Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice Dhananjay Chandrachud noted that prima facie the selection looked biased. Talwar's alleged that jury that selected Eklavya had some members allegedly close to Chopra, so the selection could not have been fair.
