Dream comes True, India beat Pakistan to win the Twenty20 World Cup

It's India..... Yes, MS Dhoni's young team scored a sensational victory over the arch-rival Pakistan to win the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup. India won the match by 5 runs.

Joy and celebrations erupted across the country and the millions fans residing outside India jumped with ecstasy, as Dhoni lifted the World Cup, reminiscent of India's famous ODI World Cup victory in 1983. While India celebrates, Pakistan plunged into grief and despair. This is so near, yet so far for Pakistan. But for India, they truly deserve it.

Pakistan bowled and fielded superbly to restrict India to 157/5 in 20 overs. Gambhir was the top scorer with 75 off 54 balls. Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 30. Umar Gul took 3 wickets including the likes of Yuvraj and Dhoni. Pakistan almost won it, thanks to the late outburst from Misbah and Tanveer, but fell short by 5 runs. Pakistan bowled out for 152 with 3 balls to spare. Nazir made 33, while Younus Khan scored 24.

Misbah was the surprise package for Pakistan, who scored 43. For India, RP Singh and Irfan Pathan took 3 wickets each. Irfan Pathan was adjudged "Man of the Match", while Shaid Afridi was declared "Man of the Series". Well done Dhoni and Team India. Heartiest Congratulations!
