7,400 More cops fired in UP, Sex angle Alleged

The police recruitment scam in Uttar Pradesh took an interesting turn with sexual favor being alleged during the recruitment of female cops. The Mayawati government fired 7,400 more cops and suspended 7 more IPS officers. The probe committee found the women applicants were sexually exploited by some officials and a politician.

In another development, the fired cops stages protests and threatened to intensify their agitations against CM Mayawati and the UP government. They alleged that they are being made scapegoat in the political battle between Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav.
