Babulal Marandi's son killed in Naxal Attack
Former Jharkhand CM Babulal Marandi's son Anup and 17 others have been killed in a Naxal attack at Chilkhadia village in Giridih district of Jharkhand. According to sources, at least 50 Naxals raided the village during a cultural program. The Naxals opened indiscriminate fire and exploded bombs. Marandi's brother Nunulal, who was also present at the function, escaped unhurt.Babulal Marandi blamed the Central and State government for the attack. The BJP has taken a strong note of the heinous attack and urged the central and state governments to come up with the strategies to curb the Naxal menace. The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Democratic), headed by Babulal Marandi, has called for a statewide bandh on Sunday.
Chief Minister Madhu Koda has announced a compensation of Rs one lakh for the families of victims and one government job for each family.
