Kolkata Police Commissioner Prasoon Mukherjee gets Marching Order

Kolkata Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee and four other officers were trasnferred with immediate effect on the behest of West Bengal CM Buddhadev Bhattacharjee. The action was taken for their alleged involvement in the mysterious death of computer graphic artist Rizwanur Rehman who had married Priyanja, daughter of a leading industrialist of the city. According to sources, pressure is mounting on Prasun Mukherjee to quit the top post at Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

Gautam Mohan Chakraborty has been appointed as the new Kolkata Police Commissioner. Kolkata also got two new deputy commissioners as both the previous DCs were removed from their positions.
