Pakistan expels Daily Telegraph Reporters

The Pakistan government expelled three reporters from the "Daily Telegraph" after an "offensive" editorial was published in the newspaper last week. General Pervez Musharraf sought an immediate apology from the newspaper. As no apology was rendered, the reporters were asked to leave the country within 72 hours.

Deputy Information Minister Tariq Azim Khan said, "the reporters were using foul and abusive language against Pakistan and Pakistan's leadership." The government action drew flak from several media organizations.
