SC grants bail to Sanjay Dutt

The Supreme Court granted bail to Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been sentenced to six years of rigorous imprisonment by a TADA Court in Mumbai. Currently, he is lodged in Pune's Yerawada Jail. The court observed that rigours of being under Arms Act are lenient. Hence, Sanjay's bail plea was approved.

Significantly, the CBI did not object to Dutt's bail petitition. Other convicts Yusuf Mohsin Nallawala, Samir Hingora and Zaibunisa Anwar Qazi too got the bail from the Supreme Court. Sanjay has been in jail since October 22.
