Uphaar Tagedy: Shocker for the Victims' Families
They waited to get justice for 10 years. Justice delayed and justice denied. The family members of the Uphaar Tragedy victims looked on with frustration and helplessness, when the accused Ansal Brothers, walked out of court with a relaxed look. Although they were sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment, they were released on bail immediately after the verdict."It's very painful to see Ansals walking out," said Neelam Krishnamurthy head of the Association of Victims of Uphaar Tragedy (AVUT). However, there was one relief that seven more accused have been sentenced to 7 years of rigorous imprisonment. Two MCD officials and a Delhi Fire Service official too have been sentenced to 2 yeard imprisonment.
