Dantewada Jailbreak: 299 Prisoners escaped

In an unprecedented development, Maoist prisoners attacked the Jail officials at Dantewada, Chhatisgarh and released 299 prisoners including 40 Maoists. They also looted arms and ammunition from the jail. At least 3 security personnel and 2 inmates have been injured in the attack.

It was a pre-meditated attack by the prisoners. There were 377 inmates inside the jail when the jailbreak took place. The government has admitted security lapse and has ordered a high-level probe. A massive manhunt has been launched to trace those prisoners.
