Tytler's role in '84 Riots to be reinvestigated

In a major jolt to the Congress and CBI, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) of Karkardooma Court, Sanjiv Jain has ordered re-investigation into the role of senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in the infamous '84 anti-Sikh riots case. The Court ordered the CBI to question Jasbir Singh, a key witness, who fled India, after being "prevented" from testifying against Tytler. The CBI will have to submit report by January 15.

Jasbir Singh is a witness to an incident that occurred on November 1, 1984, when a mob set Gurdwara Phulbagash on fire, killing at least 3 people. According to Singh, Jagdish Tytler not only led the mob, but also incited them to commit the crime. The latest development has put the Congress Party in a tight spot, as it has always given a clean chit to Jagdish Tytler.
