Kenya in deep crisis after Kibaki won Polls

Kenya plunged into deep crisis, as ethnic fighting intensified further, killing more than 1oo people in poll-related violence. A large section of people are agitated due the fact that President Mwai Kibaki won a closely-contested election amid the widespread evidence of ballot rigging.

The main battle is between Kibaki's tribe, Kikuyus and his opponent Odinga's tribe Luos. Kikuyus is the most privileged ethnic group of Kenya. People belonging to this community have dominated business and politics since Kenya's independence in 1963.
