President, Vice President, Governors get Salary Hike

In a significant development, the Union Cabinet hiked the salaries of the President, Vice President and Governors of the states. The President's salary has been increased from Rs 50,000 per month to Rs 1 lakh per month. Similarly, the Vice President's salary has also been raised from Rs 40,000 to Rs 85,000 per month.

The Governors' salaries have been increased from Rs 36,000 to Rs 75,000 per month. Former Presidents' emoluments have also been doubled to Rs six lakh a year. In addition, more facilities have been sanctioned for the spouses of late Presidents and Vice-Presidents.
