Supreme Court lifts ban on "Jallikattu", but with conditions
Just a day before the festival of Pongal begins, the Supreme Court has allowed the traditional bull taming sport "Jallikattu", but with some conditions. The court has allowed the sport to be taken place under the supervision of district collector and heavy security arrangements.The government officials would make sure that no brutality takes place on the animals during the sport. In addition, the government will have to ensure that no body is injured during the event. The Animal Welfare Board will record the event and present it before the Supreme Court.
