British Press: Musharraf to quit in a few days

If we have to believe the British Press, Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf had ran out of options after the victory of his rivals of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari in the recent polls and is contemplating for an early exit. The President does not want to see himself in an embarrassing situation if an impeachment motion is moved against him. Rather, he would prefer a graceful exit.

Never before in the past 6 years, Musharraf found himself so helpless in Pakistan. He ruled with iron hands and did everything he liked. But later, he had to bow to the continued pressure at home and abroad and cleared the way for democracy. A democratically elected government in Pakistan would signal the end of Musharraf's regime, sooner or later. This is imminent and cannot be averted.
