Explosives found near Sonia's Rally puts the Govt. in dock
Yesterday's seizure of powerful explosives near Sonia Gandhi's rally venue in Jammu & Kashmir, raised eyebrow in both political circle and public. Thanks to timely action by the CRPF, a major tragedy was averted. However, some questions still remain unanswered. The latest development points fingers towards a security lapse ahead of the visit of such a big leader of the country, that too in a sensitive state like Jammu & Kashmir. There have been allegations against the UPA-led government for going 'soft' on terrorists. The latest development only strengthened these accusations. Just ahead of Sonia Gandhi's rally in Baderwah area, the CRPF along with the Jammu Police busted a Lashkar militant hideout and recovered these explosives and arms. This militant hideout was just 800 metres away from the venue of the rally. It is surprising that despite intelligence reports, the state government has failed to notice such a huge built-up by the militants.
