Musharraf under pressure, Nawaz, Zardari join hands to form Government in Pakistan
In a significant development, PPP chief Asif Ali Zardari and PML (N) chief Nawaz Sharif joined hands to form the next government in Paistan. After holding talks for hours, the duo addressed a packed press conference to announce their decision to stay together. PPP has ruled out any support to President Mushraff. Both parties will meet later to formalize the government formation. The latest development is seen as a big jolt to Musharraf, who has been under pressure ever since the poll verdict went against his supporting parties. Although both PPP and PML (N) do not have a two-third majority to impeach Musharaff, they may snatch some of his exclusive powers including the power to sack the government. The restoration of sacked judges and greater freedom to media may be a high priroity for the new government.
