Orissa Students outraged over 'gang-rape' of Varsity Girl

Students in several parts of Orissa, have launched agitation to protest against the alleged gang-rape of a first year student of MCA in Sambalpur University. The victim was found near Seva Nursing Home at Sakhipara yesterday in a sub-conscious condition. According to the police, he was drugged, tortured and raped by a group of people.

The victim has been admitted to a government hospital and is said to be stable. Hundreds of students took the streets in Sambalpur, Burla, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and several places of the state, demanding immediate action against the culprits. The police have arrested four people in this connection and are investigating the matter.
