Lok Sabha issues notice to Bal Thackeray on Bihar remark

The Lok Sabha has issued a notice to Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray to explain his 'offensive' remarks against the MPs from Bihar. The decision was taken after some MPs from Bihar and UP moved a privilege motion against Thackery for his editorial in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna'.

Once Bal Thackeray replies to the notice, it would be placed before Speaker Somnath Chaterjee, who will decide whether his remarks amounted to a breach of privilege case. The privileges committee will take further action based on Speaker's recommendation.
