Cricket Fever in India: A Colourful Beginning for the Great IPL Cricket

The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, was on its feet. Thousands of people gathered for the opening ceremony of the DLF IPL Cricket Series and it turned out to be a real extravaganza. Vijay Mallya and cash-rich BCCI ensured a bright, colorful opening for the much-awaited Indian Premier League, which will feature 8 teams with players from India and abroad.

It was a biggest moment for Indian cricket and world cricket too. A new chapter in India's cricket history was written when the DLF Indian Premier League (IPL) was formally kicked off. The ceremony was marked by a spectacular laser show, dance by cheerleaders and dancers, great physical display by gymnasts, fireworks and much more.

Charu Sharma, Ravi Shastri and Suninl Gavaskar played the host. All eight captains took the pledge to uphold the spirit of cricket by signing on a declaration. BCCI President Sharad Pawar, acting ICC President Ray Mali and IPL Chairman Lalit Modi addressed the huge gathering. The cricket fever begins......
