Crisis in BJP: Gopinath Munde resigns from Party Posts

Senior BJP leader and General Secretary of the party, Gopinath Munde resigned from all party posts on Sunday. He was upset over the appointment of Madhu Chavan as the head of BJP's Mumbai unit. "I resigned because the party was not functioning in a democratic way. I will now function as a common party worker", said Munde.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Arun Jaitely made it clear Munde's resignation won't be accepted and all issues will be resolved soon. However, latest reports suggest that 16 BJP Corporators from Pune, have resigned in support of Munde. BJP President Rajnath Singh said that both Gopinath Munde and state BJP chief Nitin Nadkari are flying to Delhi today. However, sources close to Munde said, Munde himself won't go to Delhi. He will send two party cadres on his behalf.
