Harbhajan Singh banned for 11 IPL Matches, Sreesanth let off with Warning

The match referee Farokh Engineer found conclusive evidence about Harbhajan's guilt and Sreesanth's innocence. While he banned Harbhajan for 11 IPL matches, no penalty was announced on S Sreesanth. He was let off with a mild warning. The match referee got video footage from 7 angles that proved beyond doubt that Harbhajan slapped Sreesanth without any provocation.

The 11-match ban ensured that Harbhajan won't be playing in any more IPL matches this season. The decision set a right precedent for other players in the country. BCCI is hailed for adopting a right approach on this matter. Earlier, Harbhajan pleaded guilty and admitted that he slapped Sreesanth. The match referee also held Mumbai Indians coach Lalchand Rajput guilty for that unfortunate incident. He was fined 50 per cent of his total match fee.
