India makes History, PSLV C-9 launches 10 Satellites at one go

India set a world record, when the PSLV C-9 successfully launched 10 satellites to the orbit at one go. They included 2 Indian and 8 foreign satellites. The launch was conducted from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota. ISRO Chairnam Madhavan Nair hailed the launch as a huge success. The major satellite launched from the PSLV C-9 was India's latest remote sensing satellite CARTOSAT-2A.

Besides the 690-kg CARTOSAT-2A, the PSLV C-9 carried ISRO's Indian Mini Satellite-1 (IMS-1), and eight other nano satellites built by universities and research institutes in Canada and Germany.
