Moitree Express begins journey from Kolkata to Dhaka

The historic Kolkata-Dhaka Moitree Express was flagged off by External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee in a glitering function in Kolkata. It marked the resumption of passenger train serives between India and Bangladesh after 43 years. The train has six coaches and will be a bi-weekly service between Kolkata and Dhaka Cantonment.

Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, I&B Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, WB Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi and High Commissioner to India Liquat Ali Chowdhury were present at the flag-off ceremony.
