MTNL provides Software for Mobile Tracking

MTNL has now come up with new software LMTS (Lost Mobile Tracking System) for its customers to track their lost mobile phones. Acoording to the company, this software can be downloaded from MTNL through GPRS. It supports the GSM technology and stores the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number of handset and SIM card number used by the customer.

An alternate number or email address is required to which alert is sent in case of theft. If the mobile is lost, then this software sends SMS alert regarding the new mobile number that replaced the original number, IMEI number, as well as the current location of the handset. This tracking service is provided at the monthly subscription rate of Rs. 30.
