Orissa celebrates its Foundation Day

April 1 is celebrated as Fool's Day for people across the globe. However, this day holds much significance to the people of Orissa. Orissa Day is celebrated on April 1 every year. After a long battle and much deliberations, Orissa got freedom from Bengal and was designated the status of statehood on April 1, 1936. People of Orissa organize cultural and literary functions and rallies to mark this special occasion every year. Happy Orissa Day to all our readers from Orissa!
