Bush blames India's Middle Class for Rising Global Food Prices

In a bizarre display of imperial mindset, US President George Bush blamed India's middle class people for the rising global food prices. According to Bush, prosperity in countries like India have raised the expectations among the people. He also said that when people get wealth, the demand better food and nutrition, which leads to higher food prices. Bush made this statement at an interactive session on economy in Missouri.

To strengthen his claim, Bush took the help of statistics. He said that there are 350 million people in India who are classified as middle class. That's bigger than America. "Their middle class is larger than our entire population", he said. A few days back, US Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice had blamed India and China for spiralling global food prices.
