Chaos in Rajya Sabha, Women's Reservation Bill tabled amid Uproar

Chaotic scenes prevailed in Rajya Sabha, when the Law Minister Hans Raj Bharadwaj tried to table the women's reservation bill. The Samajwadi Party MPs shouted slogans and pounced at the Law Minister to snatch the bill from him. Congress MPs formed a human chain inside the House to protect the Law Minister and the Women's Reservation Bill. The bill was finally tabled by a voice vote. The Rajya Sabha was later adjourned.

The SP MPs were seen tearing the papers of the bill inside the House. While the Samajwadi Party decided to oppose the bill in its current form, the Congress vowed to go ahead with its plan to introduce the bill in both houses of the Parliament.
