Crisis in Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif to pull out of Government

Upset over the refusal of the PPP (Pakistan People's Party) to restore the sacked judges, PML(N) leader Nawaz Sharif declared that he would pull out of the coalition government. Ministers belonging to PML(N) are expected to submit their resignation tomorrow. The latest development put the newly sworn-in Pakistan government in deep trouble and gave further hope to beleaguered Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

Both Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari met several times to resolve the impasse, but in vain. While Nawaz Sharif is adamant on fulfilling his pre-poll promise, Zardari wanted to put the issue in cold storage. Meanwhile, while pulling out of the government, Nawaz Sharif announced that he would continue to support the government from outside.
