Fierce encounter in J&K, 5 people including a Photo Journalist killed

A fierce encounter between heavily armed militants and security forces erupted in the Samba sector of the Jammu & Kashmir. A local political leader, his wife and a photo journalist from Daily Excelsior, were killed by the militants. Daughters of the deceased politician are seriously injured. Local units of Army and BSF rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.

The militants are holed up in a residential area. According to reports, the militants may have sneaked into the valley on Friday, when there was an exchange of fire between Indian Army and the Pakistan Rangers.

According to latest reports, both militants have been killed in the operation and the security personnel rescued the three people, who were taken hostage by the militants. In total, 5 people were killed including a jawan and 4 civilians.
