FIR filed against RJD MP Jabir Hussain
An FIR has been lodged against Jabir Hussain, a RJD MP who was the former chairman of Bihar Legislative Council. He is accused of 78 illegal appointments made during his tenure as the Chairman in 2006. The Sachivalaya police registered the FIR against the former Chairman and the former council secretary Kapildev Prasad on May 24th based on the report submitted by present council chairman Arun Kumar stating some irregularities during the tenure of Mr. Hussain.He has declared the 78 illegal appointments null and void that were made by his predecessor. The FIR clearly mentions that during his tenure, Hussain used his connections as a chairman to appoint 78 people in Class III and class IV cadres going out of the way and breaching the rules.
The FIR has caused chaos in the RJD. Shyam Rajak, RJD national general secretary and spokesman told the media that Jabir Hussain is a renowned scholar and man of integrity and he has full faith in the judiciary system. He also claimed that the NDA government has started a smearing campaign against its leaders and they are out to character assassination of RJD leaders including Laloo and Rabri.
