Gujjar Agitation in Rajasthan: Death Toll reaches 16, Army, CRPF called in

The death toll in today's violent clashes between Gujjars and police at Bayana, Rajasthan reached 16, as more people succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. The police had to fire at the violent Gujjars, who uprooted the railway tracks in Bharatpur and clashed with the police, equipped with stones, sticks and other arms.

Meanwhile, 10 columns of Army, 3 CRPF companies and 2 additional RAF companies have been called in to maintain the law and order. The state government, which is already at the receiving end because of the police firing, is not taking any chance and taking all necessary steps to prevent a mobilization of enraged Gujjars.
