Inflation holds 42-month High, remains at 7.82%

There is no respite for the common people, as the inflation rate holds to a 42-month high of 7.82% during the week ended on May 10. Earlier, it was 7.83%. The food prices have gone up again.

According to experts, the inflation is likely to cross the 8% barrier, as the global crude oil prices surged to a record high of $135 a barrel. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday expressed confidence that inflation will be brought down in 8 - 10 weeks.
