Jubilation in NASA, as Phoenix lands on Mars

Scientists in NASA have burst into celebrations, as the Phoenix, a spacecraft designed to taste the water on Mars, landed safely on its soil of the Red Planet. There was cheer and jubilation in the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in La Canada Flintridge, Calif, when it was confirmed that Phoenix landed on Mars. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory is managing the Mars mission.

Scientists have high hopes on Phoenix and they expect to crack the mystery surrounding Mars. The seven-feet tall Phoenix took 296 days to reach the Mars surface. The robotic spacecraft is expected to begin the operation from tomorrow.
