LS Speaker relents, withdraws Notice sent to Privileges Committee

Breaking News! Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee relented, under pressure from both opposition and treasury benches. He decided to withdraw the notice sent to the Privileges Committee of the Parliament on 32 MPs for their 'unruly' behaviour in the House. Earlier, NDA members stopped talking to the Speaker and sat with fingers on their lips inside the House.

Leader of the Opposition, LK Advani and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee urged the Speaker to reconsider his decision to refer 32 MPs to the Privileges Committee. Finally, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee withdrew the notice and adjourned the Lok Sabha sine die.
