Media Reports: Bhubaneswar Police Commissioner B K Behera has links with Raja Acharya

In a new twist to the sensational Biranchi Das murder case, the local media reports suggest that gangster Raja Acharya named Bhubaneswar Police Commissioner Binay Kumar Behera as one of the few people who have been shielding him. Mr. Behera was quick to dismiss the reports and denied that he ever had any links with Raja Acharya or Biranchi Das.

After Raja's arrest in Goa, the Police Commissioner had made a statement that Raja was under pressure to name some influential people in Biranchi murder case. Some local newspapers have questioned the timing of Mr. Behera's statement. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has taken a strong note of the reports and hinted that the alleged link between Raja Acharya and police commissioner BK Behera would be probed by the Lok Pal, who is currently investigating the Police-Criminal nexus in the state.

Raja Acharya, who was arrested in Goa on Monday, was handed over to the special police team from Bhubaneswar led by ACP Suresh Mohapatra. He would be brought back to Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. Raja Acharya is likely to be put under narco analysis test during the interrogation process.
