NDTV Exit Poll favours BJP in Karnataka, predicts loss for Congress
The exit poll conducted by NDTV, has given a thumbs up to BJP in Karnataka. Polling was held today for 89 constituencies that included 28 in Bangalore. Over 60 percent polling was reported from the state in the first phase.According to NDTV Exit Poll, BJP is expected to win 31 out of 89 seats with a 11% vote swing in its favour. On the contrary, Congress is likely to win 23 seats, with a 5 percent negative vote swing. BJP is expected to win 14 out of 28 seats in Bangalore.
The JD(S) is expected to win 30 seats, but it will have a 6 percent negative vote swing. In the last assembly, the party had much more than what is expected to get this time. The major beneficiary in the first phase of Karnataka assembly polls is BJP. However, if the trend continues like this, the state will again witness a hung assembly.
