US Presidential Race: Barack Obama wins Democratic Nomination

Breaking News! Senator Barack Obama has won the Democratic nomination for the race of US President. Obama has already got endorsement from a slew of super delegates and with the delegates he is projected to receive from South Dakota's primary, he has reached the threshold of 2,118 delegates.

While Hillary Clinton took South Dakota, Obama won in Montana - the last primaries that went to polls today. Barack Obama is the first African-American in the USA to get a Presidential nomination from a major party. His closest rival Senator Hillary Clinton started as a clear favourite, but lost out in the race, as the campaign progressed. Obama will take on Republican John McCain in the race to White House. Sen. Hillary Clinton may be willing to accept the Vice Presidential nomination from the Democrats.
