BJP vows to link Rivers if comes to Power

Veteran BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, L K Advani said that BJP-led NDA government's first priority will be to link all Indian rivers, if they come to power in the 2009 general elections. Mr. Advani hoped that linking the rivers will put an end to water shortage in the country.

The BJP had already pursued the agenda of river-linking when it was in power between 1999 - 2004. However, the ambitious river-linking project would require more time and funds. It will be an uphill task to complete the project. But if that happens, it will solve the problems of crores of people forever.
