Karnataka BJP MLA's Wife found dead in a Delhi Apartment

The Delhi police on Sunday recovered the dead body of Padmapriya, wife of Raghupathy Bhat, a BJP MLA from Udupi, Karnataka. Padmapriya, who had gone missing from Udupi on Wednesday, was found dead in an apartment in Dwarka, Delhi. She was 35. Raghupathy Bhat and Karnataka Home Minister Dr. V S Acharya arrived in Delhi after hearing the news.

Padmapriya's car was found abandoned near the Kunjarugiri hillock near Katpadi in Udupi taluk on Friday. It came as a shock and surprise that she was found dead in Delhi. Initial reports suggest that Padmapriya could have been poisoned although her body was found hung from a ceiling fan.

Some sources believe that Padmapriya has an affair with a person called Athula Rama with whom she was reportedly staying in that flat. They reportedly bought a Wagon R car on June 12. The Delhi police is investigating the matter. Padmapriya's body was sent to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital in Delhi for an autopsy.
