Kashmir on Boil, Police open fire in Anantnag
The violent protests and agitations continued for the fourth consecutive day in several parts of Jammu & Kashmir over the transfer of forest land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB). The police had to open fire to control the mob at Anantnag. The valley witnessed a complete shutdown across the state following clashes between protesters and police. The violent clashes have claimed 3 lives and injured over 100 so far.The People's Democratic Party (PDP), which is dubbed as a communal party, is playing its communal cards and instigating the violence, while the state government remains a mute spectator. The state politicians have communalised the issue to such an extent that protesters are not showing any sign of calm and peace.
The protesters did not even spare the innocent tourists and Amarnath pilgrims. The vehicles carrying Amarnath pilgrims were attacked elsewhere in the valley. If the violence continue unabated, the President Rule will remain the only option left to restore law and order in the state. Meanwhile, the state government has ordered that all schools and colleges across the Valley will remain closed on Friday and Saturday.
