More States announce tax cuts to minimize Fuel Price Hike

After Maharashtra, Delhi, Bihar and West Bengal, more states announced measures to minimize the impact of the fuel price hike. While Haryana government reduced the VAT on petrol, diesel and LPG, Andhra Pradesh government reduced the VAT on LPG to zero. That means, there will be no hike on the LPG prices in Andhra Pradesh.

The Goa government has also decided to reduce the VAT on petrol, diesel (although by a less margin). Taking a cue from other state government, UP Chief Minister Mayawati announced a cut in sales tax on petrol, diesel and LPG. It would be interesting to see how the BJP-ruled states will respond to the call.
